We have to despair for all those trials.” Knowing that this is about their own story (past and present), I also connect this development to the plot of LOVE YOURSELF era (and maybe that of the whole Bangtan Universe as well).

起 (Euphoria – Wonder): You build a hope, which is not something you can physically grasp– it’s there but it’s also not there. This ideal world that your hope presents (sea) looking from where you are (desert) is so powerful that you wish you’d stay in the ideal world (dream) forever. “Dream is a blue mirage in a desert. … Please don’t ever wake up from the dream.” (Euphoria)
承 (Serendipity – Her): You get obsessed with the concept of hope and blindly try to possess it, thinking that once you reach it, “the perfect happiness” is guaranteed. “I can never take off the mask because behind the mask I’m not that guy you know. … Your smile and happiness are what determine my happiness.” (Outro: Her) You drink up the sea as soon as you reach there only to get thirstier; your hope (or the mirage of it) alone cannot fulfill you.

Spoon class theory refers to the idea that individuals can be classified into different socioeconomic classes (spoon classes) based on the income or assets of their parents and that one’s success in life depends entirely on being born into a wealthy family. There’s an idiom “벼는 익을수록 고개를 숙인다 (As it ripens, the rice lowers its head),” which is similar to “the nobler, the humbler.” So the undercooked steaks can be interpreted as arrogant and immature people.
(2) 스테끼 (pronounced stekki) is an old Korean pronunciation of steak, which is still used to refer to steak in a cute way or by old generations. An interesting thing to note is that unlike the standard pronunciation of steak, 스테이크 (steikeu), 스테끼 (stekki) sounds similar to 새끼 (saekki) when when pronounced fast. 새끼 means (i) a baby (animal; also can be used to a human to mean a baby when used by parents or grandparents) or (ii) a bugger, jerk, or little shit.

“A life with no weekend” is sadly a thing in Korea. A lot of workers and students work/study during the weekend without being able to take a proper rest and enjoy their non-work/non-study life. An interesting thing to note is that they used four 금’s (Fri), which make a 8-day workweek. I don’t think it’s just because it sounds better than three 금’s. The 8-day workweek is actually used to describe works that involve more than 8 work hours per day for 6-7 days per week. 월화수목금금금 is not a new slang. One of the old songs I can recall is a 2007 song by Dynamic Duo, “출첵 (roll call).” The lyrics are very much in line with Go Go although Dynamic Duo’s song is more like “forget is all and let’s have fun” without any hidden intention/message.
